Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport FLL is located about 3 miles southwest of the Fort Lauderdale city center. Currently, FLL airport is the 21st busiest airport in the United States with regard to passenger traffic and in the top 50 of the world’s busiest airports.  Originally opened in 1929 as Merle Fogg Airport it later became a United States Navy base dedicated to refitting civilian airliners into military aircraft. In 1946 it was renamed Broward County International Airport for the first time becoming a commercial airport.

Fort Lauderdale International Airport is conveniently located off I-595 and I-95 with a variety of parking options including economy, garage, hourly, daily, short-term, long-term and valet. These options include: Economy Parking, Palm Garage, Hibiscus Garage and Cypress Garage.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport consists of four terminals comprised of 56 gates. Terminal 4 is reserved for international arrivals and departures. There are courtesy shuttles on the lower level of each terminal to transport passengers between each terminal. These courtesy shuttles operate seven days a week from 6:00A.M. to 9:00P.M.

Over 30 airlines fly in and out of Fort Lauderdale International Airport daily to many international and domestic locations. The Ft. Lauderdale Airport has an array of retail shops, restaurants, bars, duty free and currency exchanges in all four terminals. There are several options for getting to a from the FLL Airport including rental car, taxi, shuttle, limousine, Sun Trolley, Broward Country Transit bus, and the Tri-Rail commuter rail service.
