The amusement center is the perfect spot for your children's next birthday, offering a variety of party packages to choose from. Detroit Skating Club has been around for almost 73 years. It offers public skating, hockey, figure skating and classes (tots through adult) and has a skate shop, cafeteria and meeting place. There is a beautiful trophy and photo display at the entrance. Please see the website for details.
With house leagues for kids through adults over 40, recreation leagues for children and adults of different ability levels, and year-round classes, the Jewish Community Center Inline Hockey Center is the home of hockey in West Bloomfield Township. The IHC, located in the west wing of the JCC, also hosts drop-in hockey and birthday parties. It features a pro shop.
Berkley Ice Arena is located at the Community Center Complex in south Berkley. This facility offers a variety of activities, including public skating and private lessons. Public skating times change, so it is best to call in advance.
Skating lessons are available for all levels and ages, including adults and children. Figure skating lessons and exhibitions are also held here. Hockey is available on a variety of levels as well. Adult and youth leagues (of varying ages, including pee wee) and pickup hockey are also available.
The arena can also be rented for birthday parties, holiday or corporate events. The facility also includes a concession stand for food and drinks. Skate rental and skate sharpening services are available.
Credit cards are not accepted by the arena, but can be accepted on behalf of the arena by the Community Center, which is in the same building.
