With more than 90 ducks, Original Wisconsin Ducks is the largest fleet of amphibious tour ducks in the United States. The Original Wisconsin Ducks is a standout attraction in Wisconsin. The Duck is an amphibious vehicle with six driving wheels, a steel hull and the capacity to carry 25 people on land or 50 people while afloat and 5,000 pounds of general cargo. All Original Wisconsin Ducks are named after famous military leaders or World War II battles. The tour winds through some of the most beautiful scenery of Wisconsin Dells. The more than 8 mile, one-hour excursion includes two water entries and features narrated highlights of the unique sandstone rock formations along the Wisconsin River as well as historical accounts of the region.

Mitchell Park Conservatory in Milwaukee offers visitors access to exotic botanical settings in three glass domes, totaling 15,000 square feet. The Tropical and Desert Domes each feature a variety of plant life from a common ecosystem, and the Floral Show Dome hosts rotating themed exhibits.

At 85 feet high, "The Domes" are easy to spot from a distance. The entrance is on South Layton Boulevard, which is serviced by the Route 27 bus. (Note that the 27 bus runs along 27th Street, which from the north or south becomes South Layton Boulevard.) Parking is in front.

Your best bet for exploring the Conservatory distraction-free is during regular weekday hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Special events on weekends, like concerts or social gatherings, often draw large crowds and make parking tight. However, some of these events may offer free admission.

Plan on paying $5 to $10 per visitor. Seniors, students, disabled visitors and young adults qualify for discounts. Children five and under can visit for free. Admission prices may differ during certain events and time frames.

Discovered in 1939, Cave of the Mounds was designated a National Natural Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior and the National Park Service in 1988. Guided tours of the cave are available year-round that take visitors past a varied collection of colorful stalactites, stalagmites, columns and other formations. The main cavern began forming more than a million years ago as acidic water dissolved the limestone bedrock far below the surface. Visitors can avail of various nearby amenities, such as park-like grounds with picnic areas, walking trails and rock gardens.
