In 1995, the Immanuel Lutheran Church (founded in 1899) merged with the Augustana Lutheran Church (founded in 1890) to form the present-day Immanuel Lutheran Church. Immanuel Lutheran shares a ministry with All Saints Episcopal Church, which uses the same worship space.This beautiful old Gothic-style church in downtown Meriden serves a diverse mix of congregants. The church itself, with its large stained-glass windows, pipe organ and Steinway grand piano, seats 400 people. The parish house, built in 1996, has a music room, library and conference room, classrooms, meeting rooms and space for office staff and recreation. Immanuel Evangelical also has a prayer garden created as an Eagle Scout project by a member of the church. A labyrinth painted on the floor of Augustana Hall can be used for walking meditation.
