The mission of Plaid House is to provide residential and related services to adolescent girls and boys in northern New Jersey. It is the intention of Plaid House to be the catalyst for positive growth, fostering independence and reentry into society. Programs include a group home environment, transitional living program and an aging out program for boys and girls aged fifteen to twenty one.
Accessible through the side entrance of the Church of the Redeemer, the Community Soup Kitchen provides free meals everyday at noon, no questions asked, to anyone in need. Healthful food options are offered, including low-fat milk, local farm produce and multi-grain breads. The soup kitchen also offers assistance to those in attendance in terms of accessing community resources, services and educational programs.
Spence-Chapin Adoption Services serves the community in a touching way. For more than 100 years the international non-profit organization has been helping families, birth parents, adoptive parents and children in need of a home, believing that each newborn child deserves a place to call home.
The Morristown Masonic Center on Maple Avenue is part of the Freemasons, a nationwide non-denominational fraternal brotherhood dedicated to providing community service and helping less fortunate individuals. The center holds community events, holiday celebrations, blood drives and fundraisers. It also hosts numerous programs and organizations, including Music Together of Warren Township classes.
Literacy Volunteers of Morris County is a not-for-profit organization that provides one-on-one or small group tutoring in Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language to adults in Morris County. LVMC has been serving Morris County for over 20 years and currently serves over 500 students.
Students meet with a tutor for one hour a week, for a minimum of one year. There is no cost to the student for tutoring or materials. Literacy Volunteers of Morris County is a local, independently-funded affiliate of an international organization called ProLiteracy International, with volunteers worldwide providing students with instruction in Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language.
The Loyola House of Retreats is situated on a 30-acre property featuring lawns, gardens and woodland. It is staffed by Jesuit priests and religious women and hosts retreats and day and evening prayer.
The Great Swamp Watershed Association is a non-profit, member-supported environmental organization that is dedicated to monitoring and protecting water quality, investigating and participating in land use issues within the watershed community, and working to strengthen environmental regulations in New Jersey. The GSWA also provides environmental education to community groups, teachers and students, to help promote the importance of protecting drinking water and preserving the natural beauty of the environment.
Our Place is a daytime drop-in shelter in Morristown for the homeless, providing a place for them to get off the streets, have coffee, and to learn about public and private programs that may be able to help. Free Internet is available. Our Place was founded in the mid-1990s and is located in the basement of First Baptist Church, across the street from the Morris County Courthouse.
Homeless Solutions (formerly Morris Shelter Inc.) is a private, not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in 1983. The organization helps to provide shelter beds, meals, clothing and supportive services for men, women and children through Morris County. Programs include "Safe Haven," which provides services to the mentally ill homeless and the Family Transition Housing Program.
Founded in 1974, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, named after Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge, "supports and encourages those educational, cultural, social and environmental values that contribute to making our society more humane and our world more livable." According to the organization's website, in 2009, the foundation made $10.5 million in grants to 237 organizations related to arts, education, the environment and local Morristown initiatives.
This is a local chapter, or aerie, of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, an international non-profit organization that was formed in 1898. The fraternal group holds community and social events and organizes fundraisers.

Morris County Art Association is a non-profit organization that provides art instruction for individuals throughout the community. Classes and workshops are offered in painting, book binding, sculpture and other media. The association holds an annual fine arts and crafts festival every June.

Homeless Solutions had its start in 1983. In 1999, after deciding to address not just homelessness in Morris County but also its lack of low-income housing, the organization took its current name.
The Homeless Solutions shelter houses homeless women, men and families. Safe Haven guests can also be accommodated. Safe Haven assists the mentally ill and homeless.
Many services are available: money management assistance, training in basic living skills, help with employment searches and counseling and substance abuse-intervention referrals.
