The Friends of Elizabeth Park is a non-profit organization that provides support for Elizabeth Park, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is home to a well known rose garden. The group sponsors tours and workshops that are open to the public. Elizabeth Park itself is managed by the City of Hartford, but straddles the Hartford/West Hartford line.
Kosciuszko Park, a lively recreation spot located on the shores of Stamford Harbor, features baseball fields and basketball courts. There are also picnic tables and pavilions, grilling grounds, swings and playsets. The park is open from dusk until dawn and the department of parks and recreation encourages visitors to follow the rules. Athletic field use is by permit only.
The Rowayton Community Center is used by several different civic groups and other organizations. It has rooms available for rent; open fields where events often take place; and a seasonal farmers market, which sells vegetables, plants and baked goods. The Rowayton Public Library is also here. It has 25,000 books and 70 periodicals. Special events and activities for children and adults are hosted occasionally.
Eisenhower is the northernmost of five neighborhood parks in town. It features a baseball field, basketball courts, two playscapes, swings, a soccer field, picnic tables, a swimming pool and a baby pool. Located near Hall High School, the park boasts mature trees and open space as well as its amenities.
Rivaling many of the fine beaches in the state of Connecticut, Stratford's Short Beach features glistening beaches with views of both Long Island Sound and the mouth of the Housatonic River. Short Beach is part of town owned Short Beach Park. Short Beach is a favorite for fishing or kite flying. Picnicking is available at the pavilion on the beach. Short Beach offers beach, sun and surf in the summer and scenic views year-round. It also features several playground areas and excellent bird sightseeing opportunities.
Naubuc Elementary School is a pre-K through grade 5 elementary school with about 500 students.
A meeting place for residents of the Indian Neck neighborhood of Branford, Foote Memorial Park is bursting with opportunities for fun. However, in the summer, campers are frequently seen on the many swings, slides and monkey bars of its several playgrounds. Stroll along paved paths for exercise or take in the baseball games from several spectator benches. In addition, lighted tennis courts are available for Branford residents as well as basketball hoops for dunkin'.
At Pump It Up, kids enjoy romping on gigantic inflatable slides, bounce houses and obstacle courses. One of five locations throughout the northeast, this Pump It Up has open play hours and also hosts birthday parties, which include pizza and beverages. A trained staff is on hand to supervice the children.
Salmon Brook Park is a 116-acre public park and recreation area just south of Granby Center. The main entrance to the Park is located on Salmon Brook Street with a second entrance on West Granby Road.
The Park is host to a variety of sporting events and a free summer concert series called the "Sounds of Summer". There is also a man-made pond open from mid-June until the end of August. Near the Park entrance visitors can find a memorial Veteran's Wall dedicated to the military men and women of Granby.

Dedicated in September 2000, the Town Campus Playground is designed to be used by children five to twelve years old. The playground was created with the help of the Philip Picard family, in memory of Philip Picard, along with the Madison Newcomers Club, the Corey Erskine Memorial Foundation, the Pre K-Kindergarten PTQ, the Board of Education Modular Pre K-Kindergarten Project, Emily R. Vancil and Lenny and Joe's Fishtale.
The playground is conveniently located next to the town tennis courts, which are reserved for the use of town residents and their guests. Playing time should be limited to one hour when people are waiting.
This public park is a top destination for recreational activities including baseball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer and swimming. The 50 meter Olympic-size all-season community swimming pool is one of only seven in the state. The all-accessible playground was built by community volunteers. The free skate board park is popular as it's right across the street from the high school. A pavilion is available for rentals and the community garden provides plots for residents to grow produce and flowers.
